The Project Residency Program is an expansion of SculptureCenter’s Summer Residency Program, which has been supporting the creation of new work and the introduction of New York artists since 1987. As has been the case in past years, artists will be invited to create a new work on-site for exhibition. However, SculptureCenter’s support is expanding in FY 2003 to include an honoraria and production budget, significant administrative and production assistance, and a more active role as a producer of the work. This program focuses on providing artists with the time and opportunity to create and exhibit large-scale and/or complex projects, specifically artists whose work has not been seen in New York or who have not shown on this scale in New York. Artists-in-Residence are invited by the Executive Director based on recommendations from international advisors. There is no application for this program.
