Mary Ceruti, Executive Director

Mary Ceruti acts as SculptureCenter's Chief Curator and oversees all aspects of program, planning, and organizational development. She has organized numerous solo and group exhibitions of contemporary art and curated special projects and commissions by over 50 emerging and established artists. Before joining SculptureCenter in 1999, Mary worked as an independent curator and writer and was the Director of Programs at Capp Street Project, an acclaimed international residency program, commissioning installation projects in San Francisco from 1992-98. She started her career as a Curatorial Assistant at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Ms. Ceruti holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Haverford College and in Art History from Bryn Mawr College. She received her M.A. from the Inter-Arts Center at San Francisco State University after pursuing an in-depth study of community-based public art projects.
Katie Bode, Operations Manager and Web Producer

Katie Bode is the web editor, office manager, archivist, systems admin, and artist liaison for SculptureCenter's In Practice open call and spring fundraiser Lucky Draw. She first joined SculptureCenter as an operations intern, continued as a volunteer and technology consultant and became a full time employee after completing her BFA in Design and Technology at Parsons School of Design. When she is not tending to the technology at SculptureCenter, Katie can be found caring for and adding to her menagerie of fantastical creatures.
John Emison, Visitor Services & Membership Manager

John is SculptureCenter's primary representative to gallery visitors and members. He also acts as the house manager for events, interns, volunteers, audience development, and, most importantly, the bookstore. New Orleans born, Northern California raised, and New York educated, John studied Art and Anthropology at Colgate University followed by the Post-Baccalaureate Program in Studio Art at Brandeis University. When not stationed at the front desk he can be found pursuing his own projects, longing for the ocean, and getting lost in the city.
Fionn Meade, Curator

Fionn Meade is SculptureCenter's Curator, responsible for organizing exhibitions and public programming. Most recently, he worked as an assistant curator at the Center for Curatorial Studies and Hessel Museum of Art, Bard College, where he worked closely with Tom Eccles and Maria Lind. Prior to that he was an assistant curator at the Henry Art Gallery, University of Washington, Seattle. As an independent curator, Meade has organized numerous exhibitions, including Bivouac at Vox Populi in Philadelphia, and In Resonance, a multi-venue sound-based art exhibition. In Fall 2008, he co-curated with Sarina Basta, Degrees of Remove: Landscape and Affect at SculptureCenter and the accompanying film series at Anthology Film Archives. His critical writing has appeared in Artforum, Bidoun, Bomb Magazine, The Fillip Review, and Parkett, among other publications. Meade received his M.A. from the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, and holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Columbia University.
Erin Leigh Pierson, Development Associate & Communications Manager

Erin Leigh Pierson is SculptureCenter's Development Associate as well as Press and Public Relations Manager. In addition to this, Erin is also the staff liaison for SC's New Art Network. Prior to joining the SculptureCenter team in early 2010, Erin had an intense and exciting internship with CreativeTime. In her rare moments of spare time, Erin can be found compulsively redecorating her apartment or practicing experimental cooking techniques. Morgan Edelbrock, Head Installer
Morgan, an Austin, Texas sweetheart, has been making art WORK at SculptureCenter since 2005. As an installer and art handler, she can be found in the highest reaches of SculptureCenter's rafters or the most remote corner of the basement, but wherever she is, rest assured the show is going up.

Imani Brown, Operations Intern

Imani Brown is a recent graduate from Columbia University where she received her B.A. in Visual Arts and Anthropology. She will work this summer as the SculptureCenter's Operations Intern for the 2010 In Practice open call.
Kristen Chappa, Curatorial Intern

Kristen Chappa is a second year MA candidate in Columbia University's Modern Art History: Critical and Curatorial Studies program. Before relocating to New York, Kristen was Co-Director of The Lab, a non-profit alternative space in San Francisco from 2005 - 2009. She is currently a contributing writer at Art in America and a member of the Wallach Gallery's Steering Committee. This summer, Kristen is assisting Fionn Meade with the Knight's Move catalog production and upcoming curatorial projects.
Alisha McCurdy, Operations Intern

Alisha McCurdy is a second year MFA Sculpture candidate at Stony Brook University. Having completed her BFA in Sculpture and Print Media and an MA in Studio Art, Alisha left the back woods of western Pennsylvania for the glitz and grit of New York City. When not working in the studio or at SculptureCenter, she can be found nosing around the city.
Hannah Levy, Operations Intern

Hannah Levy is currently an undergraduate at Cornell University where she is majoring in Fine Art with a planned concentration in sculpture. She is the Operations Intern working on this summer's In Practice Open Call.
Persis Singh, Curatorial Intern

Persis recently received her M.A. in Art History with Distinction from the University College London. In addition to pursuing a Curatorial internship at SculptureCenter, she currently works as the Gallery Assistant/Registrar at Tracy Williams Ltd. and pursues a number of freelance writing, editing and curatorial projects.
